Wellbeing
Wellbeing
At Coltishall, we want children to feel safe, supported, included and ready to learn.
Wellbeing is woven through school life, with universal opportunities for all pupils alongside additional support for children who need it.
Understand yourself
Children have opportunities to develop emotional awareness, resilience and positive relationships.
This includes MyHappyMind, wellbeing activities and opportunities to reflect on feelings, strengths and personal growth.
Start the day well
Children can begin the school day in a positive and supported way.
Our Breakfast Club provides a calm transition into school, and pupils can also take part in our free morning Yoga Club.
Get support when you need it
Some children benefit from extra pastoral support at particular times.
Opportunities include Hamish & Milo and support through our Happiness Hive.
Look after one another
Children are encouraged to notice, support and care for others.
Happiness Heroes, Buddy Groups and other pupil roles give children opportunities to contribute to the wellbeing of the wider school community.
Know that you belong
We want every child to feel welcomed, included and valued.
Our School of Sanctuary work, Unique and Anti-Bullying activities and wider school culture help children understand difference, inclusion and belonging.
Celebrate who you are and what you achieve
Children have regular opportunities to have effort, achievement, character and contribution recognised.
Celebration Assemblies, Values Assemblies and Values VIP help us notice and celebrate what children bring to school life.
