Coltishall Primary School

Sports and Challenge

Sport & Challenge

At Coltishall, children have opportunities to be active, compete, represent their school and challenge themselves.

We want pupils to experience both the enjoyment of taking part and the pride that comes from working hard, improving and being part of a team.

Represent Coltishall

Children have opportunities to represent the school in competitive sport.

Our teams and competitions include football, rugby, cricket, dodgeball, swimming, athletics and cross-country.

Compete with other schools

Pupils can take part in tournaments and competitions beyond Coltishall, including cluster and inter-school events.

These experiences give children opportunities to test themselves, work as a team and represent their school with pride.

Learn to swim

Children develop confidence and competence in the water through our school swimming programme.

Swimming is taught in Years 3 and 4, with opportunities for pupils to develop their skills further.

Get active beyond PE

Children can choose to take part in additional sporting and physical-activity opportunities outside the normal PE curriculum.

These include clubs such as cross-country and other sports offered during the school year.

Take on a challenge

Not every sporting experience is about winning.

Children are encouraged to test themselves, persevere and enjoy taking part in physical challenges such as cross-country and the Rainbow Run.

Celebrate sport together

Our annual Sports Day brings the whole school together.

Every child takes part, representing their house and contributing to a shared day of competition, encouragement and celebration.
