Community & Leadership

At Coltishall, children are encouraged to take responsibility, have a voice and play an active part in school and community life.

We want pupils to know that their ideas matter, that they can make a difference and that leadership is something they can grow into through real opportunities.

Step up and lead

Children can put themselves forward for a wide range of leadership roles.

These include House Captain, Vice Captain, School Councillor, Eco Councillor, Year 6 Prefect, Happiness Hero and Year 5 Librarian.

Have your say

Pupils have opportunities to represent others, contribute ideas and help shape life at Coltishall.

Through School Council, Eco Council and other pupil voice opportunities, children can raise issues, suggest changes and contribute to decisions.

Lead school life

Children help lead important parts of whole-school life.

House Captains and School Councillors take an active role in Celebration Assemblies, and pupils regularly present, contribute and take responsibility during assemblies, celebrations and school events.

Make a difference

Children have opportunities to support charities and community causes.

These include activities such as our Sponsored Glow Walk for local cancer charities, the Rainbow Run and other fundraising and community events.

Welcome and include

We want children to understand the importance of belonging, inclusion and looking out for others.

Through School of Sanctuary, Buddy Groups and pupil leadership, children have opportunities to welcome, support and include others.

Share school life

Families are an important part of the Coltishall community.

Children have opportunities to share their learning and achievements through events such as Deck the Halls, Celebrations of Learning, Art and DT exhibitions, Reading Cafés, Maths Cafés and the Friends Summer BBQ.
