Pupil Leadership
Pupil Leadership
Pupil leadership is an important part of life at Coltishall Primary School.
Children have a range of opportunities to represent their classmates, take responsibility and contribute to the running of the school.
School Council
Our School Council gives pupils a formal voice in school life.
Representatives are elected by their classmates and meet regularly to discuss issues raised by pupils, contribute ideas and support school improvement.
Year 6 pupils also take on senior School Council roles, including Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer and Secretary.
Eco Council
Eco Council representatives help pupils contribute to the environmental life of the school.
They support projects linked to sustainability, wildlife, recycling and the care of our school grounds.
House Captains
House Captains and Vice Captains help lead house activities and contribute to assemblies, celebrations and other whole-school events.
Buddy Groups
Our Buddy Groups bring children from different year groups together.
Each group is supported by older pupils, including Year 6 Top Buddies, who help younger children take part, build relationships and feel part of the wider school community.
Buddy Groups give older pupils meaningful responsibility while ensuring younger children have familiar older pupils they can approach for support.
Other Leadership Opportunities
Pupil leadership at Coltishall extends beyond these formal roles.
Other opportunities include Year 6 Prefects, Happiness Heroes and Year 5 Librarians, alongside leadership roles in assemblies, events and other areas of school life.
