Attendance
Regular attendance helps children build friendships, feel part of school life and make progress in their learning. We work with families to support children to attend regularly and arrive on time.
Reporting an absence
Please report your child’s absence through the Compass app, giving the reason, as soon as possible on the day of absence. If you report through Compass, you do not also need to telephone.
Alternatively, you can call the school office on 01603 737481 and leave a message with your child’s name, class and reason for absence.
Please keep us informed if the absence continues.
Support with attendance
If your child is finding it difficult to attend school, please contact us early. We will work with you to understand any difficulties and agree appropriate support.

For the Autumn and Spring terms of 2025/26:

Authorised and unauthorised absence together make up the overall absence figure.
Requesting leave during term time
Requests for leave during term time must be made in advance using our leave request form. The Headteacher considers each request individually, taking account of the circumstances. A family holiday is not normally considered an exceptional circumstance.
Submitting a request does not mean that leave has been authorised.
Unauthorised absence and penalty notices
Unauthorised absence may lead to a penalty notice or other legal action. The national threshold for considering a penalty notice is 10 sessions of unauthorised absence within 10 school weeks. A session is half a school day, and the absences do not have to be consecutive.
Decisions take account of individual circumstances and follow Norfolk County Council’s code of conduct. Reaching the threshold does not mean that a fine is issued automatically.
